About Clara

My name is Clara Shum, and I am a 16-year-old Piedmont High School student. This is a baking company inspired by my passion for baking and my love of doing things for others.

I started baking at a very young age, whether it was helping my mom measure out the ingredients for her famous cookies or peeling apples for my grandma. I always loved being in the kitchen.

For my 7th birthday party, I chose a cupcake-making party, and of course, we had to make personalized pink aprons for all my friends. That birthday party was where my passion for baking really took off and encouraged me to start baking at home.

I spent countless hours watching my favorite baking YouTuber, Rosanna Pansino, and even asked for her cookbooks every year she came out with a new one. I always dreamed of being on The Great British Baking Show and Chopped, as they are two of my many favorite baking and cooking shows.

For multiple summers, I attended cooking camps that opened my eyes to the creativity of cooking and the precision of baking. I learned to follow recipes, dice, chop, and explore new flavors and textures.

I’ve always enjoyed baking with my grandma when I was younger. Even though sometimes we just baked boxed brownies, I loved spending time with her. Christmas with my mom’s oatmeal M&M cookies has also taught me the perfection in the simplest things. I learned many skills of cooking and hospitality from my Auntie Ella, who hosted multiple dinner parties every year.

I always associated family and warmth with the kitchen, and my family always encouraged me to bake and cook and spend as many hours as I wanted in the kitchen. Baking has always been a big part of my life; it has brought me closer to my family and friends and has allowed me to show how much I care for all those around me.
