About Clara

My name is Clara Shum, and I am a 17-year-old student at Piedmont High School. This baking company was inspired by my lifelong passion for baking and my love for bringing joy to others through food.

I began baking at a young age, helping my mom make her famous cookies and spending time in the kitchen with my grandma. For my seventh birthday, I even chose a cupcake-making party with personalized pink aprons for all my friends — a moment that truly sparked my passion for baking.

Over the years, I spent countless hours watching Rosanna Pansino videos, collecting her cookbooks, and dreaming of competing on shows like The Great British Bake Off and Chopped.

To me, baking has always meant warmth, family, and connection. It has brought me closer to the people around me and given me a way to show love and care for others. I have won awards such as “Best Tart” at the Piedmont Harvest Festival and continue using baking to give back to my community, including helping prepare Thanksgiving meals for over 200 people through my church.

To me, the kitchen has always represented family, warmth, and connection. My family encouraged me to spend as much time as I wanted cooking and baking, and over the years, baking has become one of the most meaningful parts of my life. It has brought me closer to my family and friends and given me a way to express care and appreciation for the people around me.
